Since 2001, Bernadette Verhagen has been a member of the symphony orchestra Anima Eterna led by Jos van Immerseel. Bernadette is one of the leaders of the viola group.
In various combinations, Anima Eterna performs masterpieces of 18th- to 20th-century composers. The company has a penchant for classical-romantic pieces. As with the Van Swieten Society, Bernadette and her fellow musicians always try to re-create the essence of the original composition.
By doing thorough research into documents, instruments and execution conventions, they manage to blow off thick layers of dust. What remains is the original music, always surprisingly pure. For more information, visit the
Anima Eterna website.
